Black History Month is celebrated from February 1st to March 1st. And with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we thought what better way to celebrate equality and love together! We saw many couples (and celebrity couples) get hitched in the last year, and some even starting their new life together in the new year. Danielle Brooks wed her beau Dennis Gelin on the 8th of January this year. The couple’s celebrations were romantic and so emotional, that we couldn’t help but smile, reading their love story that features both their versions of how they met. They also shared their sweetest wedding day moments with us, including Dennis’ two-year-old daughter serving as their flower girl and how they honored their African heritage during their ceremony.

Supermodel Jasmine Tookes had an enchanting wedding in Quito, Ecuador, on September 4th, and she looked like an absolute dream! Deciding to tie the knot at Juan’s home country, the couple took the help of local planner Carolina Muzo to make the unforgettable day more special for them. The setting included candlelights and flowers that replicated an enchanted garden, with a violinist adding to the romantic atmosphere with soothing music. Jasmine’s sister served as their flower girl, and her mother creatively designed her wedding shoes to be her ‘something blue’, which made these personal moments the bride shared with her family.

Araba & Harvey had many emotional moments during their wedding, celebrating and honoring traditions with their family. The couple’s mothers both lit candles, and later, their siblings gave musical performances with the bride’s sister singing while the groom’s brother played the piano. These were heartwarming moments that the bride and groom held close to their hearts. The processional song chosen was God Is by Kanye West because Araba’s now-husband loves the rap artist, and it was the perfect praise to God for getting them where they are.
