It was bound to be an Italian extravaganza when the niece of Princess Diana – Kitty Spencer tied the knot with billionaire fashion tycoon Michael Lewis at the 16th-century Villa Aldobrandini in Italy on Saturday, July 24, 2021. Like many couples affected by the pandemic, they had postponed their wedding twice before. It was a lavish three-day affair attended by close friends and family.
Kitty is the global ambassador for the luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana and Mr. Lewis is a billionaire fashion tycoon, and the chairman of the South African Foschini group and owns the high street shops Whistles and Phase Eight.
But what made us all dazzled was the bride’s series of 5 Dolce & Gabbana dress that she wore at her wedding.
The Venue
The villa shows Rome at its best and offers guests incredible views of the Italian city. According to Garden Visit, the event venue is a palace constructed in the early Italian baroque style. The garden, which was laid out from 1598 to 1603, has a ‘water theatre’ filled with statues and fountains. Tours are available, and the palace is considered a major tourist attraction. It is known for its ancient marbles, paintings and 16th-century hanging garden.
The Gown
Kitty wore a bespoke Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda wedding dress for her big day. The dress was Victorian-era-inspired and made from white lace with a high neck, long sleeves and a corseted bodice. According to reports, the dress took six months to create. The British fashion model polished her look off with a dramatic veil while styling her blonde hair in a low bun.

Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda division was busy working on them for six months, with a host of ‘seamstresses, painters and artisans collaborating to birth the breathtaking piece.
For the night pre-wedding dinner at Galleria del Cardinale in Rome. The blue tulle gown with cross-stitched flowers included a cape. One of the inspirations is definitely her love for Italy. Kitty is in love with the beautiful country and its rich art and history.
