Faith Over Fear – An Intimate Styled Shoot With Rustic Pampas Grass To Inspire Your 2021 Celebrations

The wedding industry was hit hard last year and we had to deal with uncertainty, postponements and cancellations. This pandemic is only a catalyst for real change in the industry. Intimate weddings are an emerging trend and will be in the spotlight which means we have to adapt and prioritize personalization and creativity.

This styled shoot which took place in the first week of October 2020 is a beautiful inspiration for couples to choose faith over fear and motivates couples to go ahead with their wedding in an intimate way! We fell in love with this inspiration that reflects a couple with a romantic style and a relaxed celebration that embodies a bohemian style that perfectly suits the setting.

“Choosing the name meant a lot to us, we wanted to make an impact and fall in love with our project. We realized that during all these unprecedented times we never lost hope and had faith to see the light at the end of the tunnel so the name came – we called it: Faith over Fear. Faith over fear means the opportunity to embrace new challenges because when all seems lost you can see the light with your heart.” Shares Jossy Quezada, a wedding planner based in Perú who planned this editorial.

The venue was a colonial traditional style hacienda in the city with big gardens, a square, and a chapel. The Hacienda Bocanegra has survived independence and political and economic crisis. The idea was to have the wedding ceremony and reception there and use all these areas with a bohemian romantic decoration, embracing the beauty in an intimate wedding.

The ceremony setting was decorated with pampas grass to give a distinct soft and romantic feel inspired by the colonial style of the venue. Floral decoration can transform spaces and get the attention of the wedding decor. The inspiration setting was made to create a dreamy enchanting effect: natural elements, wildflowers, boho rugs, classy wooden furniture and cushions can accessorize a bohemian setting. The idea is to mix the significance of the ceremony with the details of the reception, which are the key elements in an intimate wedding. The setup looked enchanting with bold and sandy tones blending seamlessly with the theme.

A bohemian wedding calls for a boy with a beard right? The groom looked stylish in a blue wedding jacket – formal but not too formal with black trousers to give a different touch. A miniature bouquet for a buttonhole, stepping away from the traditional. The second attire was a burgundy jacket with beige trousers and a bow tie to make him stand out and look super stylish.

Brides need a hairstyle that expresses exactly how they feel –  Bohemian romantic style is not too perfect or overdone: braids, soft waves and long hair look beautiful in a bohemian bride creating a soft texture and natural movement. The headpiece matches perfectly and harmonizes the final look giving a glam finishing touch. The makeup is all about natural  self- shine, eyeshadows of natural shades and timeless colors.

The flowers matched the bridal looks, the bouquets were a mixture of wildflowers, pampa grass, dried flowers and greenery to make the bouquets relaxing and enchanting. It was a combination of textures that can be the perfect complement for the bohemian setting.

The bride wore two amazing wedding gowns: one for the religious ceremony and the other one for the styled shooting and celebration. The first dress was made for a sophisticated and romantic bride, the design embodies elegance, passion and excitement all at the same time.

The second dress is more for a laid-back look, a bohemian dress that is unique, romantic and carefree for brides that want to look ethereal and to go from the ceremony to the reception. Two pieces: an asymmetrical skirt and embroidered top – the most stunning detail in this dress is the word Faith, like a tattoo on the bride´s back to remind us the importance of having faith in times of uncertainty.

“I have to admit that this experience has been so enriching for me and my wedding vendors team. I teamed up with amazing professionals who share the same vision and purpose.

We were used to hosting big events but facing transformation and adapting to new scenarios is part of life. We’ve learned that when you love what you do nothing can stop you and even working under restrictions, social distance, sanitizing and so on are things you can easily adapt – we know how passionate we are about creating and bringing a dream day to life. Overcoming obstacles is now part of our lives and that’s really rewarding.  It’s time to boost our creativity, innovate in finding alternatives and preserve love, hope, and health.” Shares Jossy.

“One of the things that we missed the most was the adrenaline of planning an event and the pleasure of working together sharing unforgettable moments. At first, we were waiting for the right time to start operating again but it never came so we felt the need to create something together and inspire couples to new ways of celebrating, adapt to new trends due to the global crisis and foster our creativity.” Beautifully sums up Jossy.
