In the wedding industry, every ceremony is special. There are emotions attached to it and they are all unique and beautiful in their own ways. But sometimes you come across weddings that leave you absolutely spellbound and transport you to a mystical wonderland. Linda & Amanuel’s wedding crafted elegantly by DK Events, Australia is one such example!
The couple exchanged vows on October 14th at the Sydney Town Hall and we bring to you details of their dreamy fairytale wedding. Read all about their story and the behind the scenes of planning this splendid day and prepare to get enchanted!
THE BEGINNING OF A ROMANTIC SAGA
Girl is the boy’s sister’s best friend, they meet and fall in love – this always will remain the cutest love story! Fortune shines on those who are lucky to find their better halves this way isn’t it? Linda had been best of friends with Amanuel’s sister leading to frequent interactions between the two. About 1 year later Amanuel’s sister got married and that is where Linda first saw him. As Linda says, “Love at first sight is difficult to explain. It’s not like I fell in love with him blindly, but it did feel like I just met someone special. 4 weeks later we went on our first date and that’s when we knew we wanted to marry each other. We didn’t waste any time. There was so much compatibility and chemistry we both had never felt before!”And having not dated anyone in the past, it was a fresh and beautiful experience for both of them – the feeling of first love!
THE INSPIRATION, STYLING & DECOR THAT WAS NOTHING LESS THAN MAGICAL
DWP esteemed member Diane Khoury of DK Events in Australia was given the responsibility of bringing to life the couples’ vision for their big day. Along with her talented team of vendors and suppliers, Diane was able to deliver a wedding ceremony just how the couple wanted.
The inspiration for the wedding was very much influenced by Disney and fairytales. They are the one aspect of life that always seems so pure, so true, so filled with love and happiness – all the things Linda felt with Amanuel. She believes most girls at some point in their life picture their wedding and see themselves as a princess, and that was what she wanted.
The wedding reception was held in Sydney Town Hall. Diane and her team wanted to accentuate the beauty and grandness of the venue with endless florals, custom builds and gorgeous table settings creating the vibe of a true royal garden. Two different looks were created table designs – one was of grand kings with shepherd hooks on the dance floor, and the other was round tables on the outskirts with grand centerpieces. Table settings were completed and complemented by beautiful tableware from Optimum Event Hire.
The floral design was spot on and absolutely nailed by John Emmanuel, who made use of whites, greens and soft tones to further enhance the majestic look of the Town Hall, which looked drop dead gorgeous, especially coupled with the table decor. There was also a grand statement custom ceiling installation that was a first of its kind with 3.5m ring in the centre placed over the bridal area, courtesy of Starlight Chandeliers. And what do we say about the grand entrance and the stage, the setup was nothing less than wedding fit for royalty, all designed and executed by White Label Design Build.
A CEREMONY THAT EXUDES GRANDEUR & SPLENDOUR
The ceremony had it all, from awe-inspiring decor to fine catering to some amazing entertainment! The catering was done by two powerhouses, RA Catering who were the in-house caterers at Town Hall and the George Khouzame Group, together who delivered a catering and culinary experience like no other including a live seafood station!
The guest experience was truly brought to life as they entered with violinists on podiums, cellos and dancers on bridal, and a trumpet fanfare show before the couple walked in. Guests were also treated to an aerialist show like no other in the middle of the dance floor, choreographed by Couture Air. And that’s not all, for the touch of ‘sweetness’ to the couples’ happily ever after, the wedding cake by Sweet Bloom Cakes stood at a towering 1.7m high, which was further enhanced by another wow factor – a grand confetti drop during the cake cutting ceremony by Sydney Fireworks & Pyrotechnic. This wedding was truly unlike any other we’ve seen given the grandeur, scale and precision with which it was planned.
THE BRIDE SHINES IN HER BRIDAL GLORY!
Let us take a moment to admire the angelic beauty the bride was looking on her big day. Linda opted for a J’Aton Couture bridal gown and was looking absolutely ethereal. The gown was embellished with intricate embroidery with stones and pearls to accentuate the overall look. This was complemented by her subtle and natural makeup by Milani Joy Makeup and hair set in a beautiful bun by hairstylist Lizzie Liros.
Recalling their overall experience planning & designing the wedding, Diane Khoury says, “Linda and Amanuel came to us with a grand vision for their nuptials, and we gave just that with a fairytale wedding of their dreams.
