10 Ideas To Celebrate This Year’s Valentine’s Day; For COUPLES & SINGLES

The V-day is soon approaching and with that, if you are already in the stage of planning how to spend the day, we’ve got you covered. While it’s great to make sure your significant other or partner knows how much you love them, planning an exciting experience or activity on February 14 is a great way to truly show how you feel beyond the standard chocolates and flowers.

But for this year, we want to make it a bit different. We want to celebrate all the singles as well. After all, singlehood is quite exciting as well, yeah? So scroll below to find 10 amazing things that you can do this ‘Love’ day, no matter if you are with the love of your life or single!

Make Valentine’s Day mug cakes together, go for a walk, read romantic quotes and poems out loud, or simply watch the sunset. You can even plan a day that includes enjoying both of your favorite things!

Go to a Wine Tasting- Head to a local winery or vineyard to sample their finest offerings. You can even buy a bottle or two to take home for your next date night!

Plan a getaway-  Surprise your S.O. by booking a luxurious staycation at a 5-star property and spoil them with their favorite dinner. Book a place with access to activities and amenities you wouldn’t otherwise have at home, like, say, a fireplace. Hint: ask the hotel to put candles, balloons or roses all over your room for that extra effort points.

Create A Couples Bucket List- Keep the fun going for years to come by creating a list of things the two of you want to do together. Anything from date night ideas and daily activities to larger goals like traveling and life milestones will do! This is a great way to bond on a deeper level.

Sing Love Song Karaoke- Make it a noteworthy V-Day by busting out the microphone and speaker for a fun night of karaoke! Songs like “I Will Always Love You” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love” are perfect for belting out with your partner.

Do a Couples Boudoir Shoot- Rekindle your intimacy by having a boudoir shoot. A photoshoot is always a good idea but when it’s Valentine’s Day, opt for a rather romantic one. Discuss the details prior on how comfortable you both are and what would you like to do with pictures later.

For Singles

While Valentine’s Day is known as the ultimate day of romance for couples, that doesn’t mean it can’t be an amazing day for singles. Singles, you can own V-Day like any other holiday with tons of fun activities to show how much love you have for yourself, your besties, and your fam.

Treat yourself- Go for a new blowout, haircut, beauty treatment, facial, or massage. Even if you’re not into the traditional chocolate, roses and wine hubbub, grab your favorite meal at that 5-star restaurant you always fancied, shop yourself your favorite brand of clothes or even a new book is a great way to “treat yourself” this Valentine’s Day. Just do the nice thing for yourself, whatever that means to you.

Send valentines to your friends- Remember when we were kids, we used to exchange cards and notes with our friends at school, tuition or playground? Well, it’s time to bring that back! It’s an amazing day to reconnect with your buddies remembering them and all your childhood memories so you can refresh your mind and express gratitude for your friends.

Host All-Single Dinner Party! Just recently when we were watching Bing Bang Theory (for the 4th time, of course) Raj threw an all-single Valentine’s day party at the comic book store when the rest of his friends were busy with their couples. It was a great idea, isn’t it? After all, it’s a reminder that you are not the only one who’s single. And who knows you might end up with someone by the end of the party! (Raj did)

Write a love letter to yourself- Yes, you read it right! Take “self-love” to the next level by expressing about yourself on a piece of paper. Write the things you like about yourself, highlight your achievements, and write what you’d like to accomplish more this year.

Unplug- Switch off your phone and discover the city on your own. Just like the old days. Try out random cafes that are on the corner of the road or just learn a new skill – maybe dancing, volunteering, go for a tarot reading if you are into that or painting, cooking or workout!
