Italy
In the words of Jennifer Zabinsky from JZ Events, “Italy continues to be one of, if not the top, wedding destination as people seek “la dolce vita”. It not only lends natural romance and rich history but creates an experience for guests to travel and share in a timeless location that has meaning to the couple.”
Renowned for its enchanting landscapes, Italy presents a myriad of romantic destinations, including Lake Como, the Amalfi Coast, Puglia, and Lake Garda.
Lake Como is probably one of the most popular and picturesque destinations to tie the knot in Italy. Its breathtaking landscape offers the setting for a gorgeous photoshoot. According to David Christopher from David Christopher Photography, “Italian destinations are still very much in demand and never go out of style. Lake Como and Garda are still one of the top destinations for couples. I think from a photography point of view there is so much there on offer in terms of gorgeous locations that we can photograph couples like scenes out of a movie. Couples plan multi-day celebrations more often, so they have more quality time to soak in the culture and enjoy the scenery with their guests.”
After experiencing the breathtaking allure of Lake Como, one cannot help but explore Tuscany, another popular destination to tie the knot in Italy. Gideon Hermosa, one of the most renowned floral designers from the Philippines says, “Tuscany has become an increasingly popular choice for couples in recent months. This region boasts picturesque locations that offer an elegant greenery aesthetic, seamlessly incorporating nature into the wedding theme. Tuscany is renowned for its wide array of suppliers and venues, accommodating diverse budgets.”
Ariel Leann Chen from Le Reve Premier International also says, “With its Renaissance and fine art, Tuscany offers more than just a wedding. You can also enjoy nature’s gift of an idyllic countryside backdrop. The weather in Tuscany generates a unique wedding that makes your wedding different from others. Food and wine are the best, you will certainly have a feast and a joyful wedding dinner.”
Amalfi Coast too offers a romantic and dreamy setting for a wedding. According to Kajal Patel from Events By Kajal, “It’s a place to get married if your wedding dreams consist of sparkling turquoise waters, sheer cliffs adorned with vibrant lemon and exotic flowers.”
While these are the top destinations in Italy, has much more to offer. A few other destinations include Puglia Italy, and Ischia Island. “Puglia Region in Italy has a huge variety of options: from ancient and original “Masserie” to 5-star luxury venues, from Beach locations for beach weddings to local traditions, artisans, artists, and incredible olive groves where you can set up a very unique wedding. Puglia is improving hospitality services and new venues for every budget”, says Diana Da Ros from Diana Da Ros International Weddings & Events Agency.
Talking about the Ischia Islands, Diana further adds, “Named one of the best islands in the world in 2022, Ischia has everything: Italian vibes, amazing food, spectacular venues, natural spas, History, Art, Nature… Just 50 minutes by speed boat from Naples and located in front of Capri, it’s the perfect spot for an exclusive wedding to let you surprise your guests.”

Couples can enjoy delicious food, explore medieval castles, or even sail down the Douro River valley. It has everything you need for a classic romantic wedding (historic churches, vineyards for receptions) and some tech-savvy touches (wine tastings with virtual tours, interactive apps for exploring local villages),” says Nancy Barkley from Honeymoons and Getaways.
Julie Deffense from Julie Deffense Artistry further adds, “Lisbon is currently one of the hottest and most sought-after destinations for tourism, the restaurants, art, and culture has had an incredible boom in the past few years. With endless palaces and one-of-a-kind venues to choose from, I’m seeing a steady increase in destination weddings (there have always been a lot, but it seems that since Lisbon has been put on the map for top places to visit it’s become even more popular). Most people in high society have probably been to (or been invited to) a wedding in Italy, but Portugal is a relatively new chic place to visit so everyone is jumping at the chance to come to a wedding here and see what all the buzz is about.”
She further talks about the other destinations in the country that are totally worth the splurge. These include Sintra and Comporta. She says, “For the same reasons as Lisbon, Sintra offers some of the most spectacular palaces and hotels to host a fairytale wedding.”
Talking about Comporta, she says, “Also for the same reasons as above, but with a more relaxed luxury, quieter, more private Hamptons-esque feel. It offers incredible venues that the entire party can stay at, wake up to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach, and watch the sunset while sipping a glass of Portuguese espumante.”

Spain remains an enchanting destination that seamlessly weaves together a tapestry of rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant traditions, making it an ideal retreat for couples. From the historic charm of cities like Barcelona and Madrid to the sun-kissed beaches, Spain invites lovers to immerse themselves in its diverse and captivating allure. Couples who are looking for something with a more affordable price range and excellent hospitality without sacrificing the weather and stunning locations are opting to get married in Spain.
According to David Christopher, “We’ve seen Spain and Portugal come up a lot more often with our enquiries because couples are seeking something that is more competitive price point and still a very good standard of hospitality without compromising on the weather and beautiful locations.”
The United Kingdom
With its picturesque landscapes, historic venues, and charming traditions, the United Kingdom continues to be a captivating destination for couples seeking a timeless and romantic wedding experience.

Besides London, couples can also opt for other destinations, like the Isle Of Man. Talking about the destination Aimee Ford from Aimee Ford Ltd says, “Destination weddings don’t have to be further than a 20-minute flight. I may be biased but the island has it all – rugged heather-covered moorlands, stunning glens and waterfalls, and you’re never more than 15 minutes from a sandy beach. Whether you want to include a traditional steam train ride into your big day or get married in an old pagan circle, the island has you covered.”
