The Bible says a lot about marriage, love, relationships, and commitment. For couples who want their faith to be a part of their wedding, whether big or small, these powerful and timeless love quotes from the Bible are perfect.
Corinthians 13:4-8: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hope, and always perseveres. Love never fails.”
The Bible shares that love is more than a feeling. It is full of action. Having this piece of Scripture shared at your wedding serves as a type of vow to your partner.
Colossians 3:14-17: “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
This verse is great for the couple that desires Christ to be at the center of their relationship. It is a reminder to them and their guests that the foundation of their relationship is the same for all of their relationships and what keeps the two of them so close is the love of Christ.
Ecclesiastes 4:9
“Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
This poem shares the true partnership between two people – the fundamental basis of being there for someone in the highs and lows is demonstrated here and the strength that comes from inviting Christ into your relationship.

One of the recognized and indisputable commandments of Islam is that of marriage – the sacred union that takes place only between a man and a woman. From the ocean of traditions and verses of the Quran on this topic, check out the following:
Quran, 2:187: “Your spouses are a garment for you as you are for them.”
While the deeper meanings of the verses of the Quran are beyond our comprehension, this beautiful verse is a reminder of the beauty of having a spouse. By being a garment for each other, we are more than just a partner – we are a covering, a comfort, and a layer of beauty for each other to grow in both our relationship with each other and with Allah.
Quran, 7:189: “It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate that he might dwell in security with her.”
We must take comfort in knowing that Allah provides for us in more ways than we can ever comprehend – and even if it does not manifest in a way we can understand or agree with, all of our souls have been granted a match to bring us comfort either in this world or the next.
Quran, 4:1: “Oh, mankind! Have the consciousness of your Lord who has created you from a single soul. From it He created your spouse and through them, He populated the land with many men and women. Have spiritual awareness of the One by whose Name you swear to settle your differences and have respect for the wombs that bore you. Without doubt, Allah (keeps watching over you all.”
Again in this verse of the Qur’an, we are once again reminded that it is Allah who created mankind and then made its spouse and through these two has the world become populated.
Quran, 30:21: “And one of His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves so that you may find comfort in them. And He has placed between you compassion and mercy. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect.”
The Holy Quran reminds us here that marriage and living with a spouse should be about comfort and happiness – after all, we need to remember that getting married is a blessing from Allah Himself. It is also a chance to learn about compassion, mercy, and love – which in turn can help us grow in our faith and love for Allah as well.
Bhagavad Gita

Considered as one of the very important holy scriptures in the Hindu religion, The Bhagavad Gita narrates epic dialogues on the way of living for mankind. When it comes to love and wedding, here’s what it says:
“When you fall in love then your heart should fill with happiness, that does not come unless you surrender yourself completely.”
Here the quote means that to love freely with all your being, you must let go of all constraints and vulnerability. You must expect the least but give your fullest. You will not experience true love until you let it all go.
“Be the strength of your love never leave them alone.”
If you love someone or have a partner, then do not give up. When you feel like giving up, stand back for a moment and think. Work on the problem, be the support that your partner needs, and never leave his or her side.
“Never hide anything from your partner. Never hurt your partner just for your own feelings.”
Even if you are in a bad mood, you must not hurt your partner’s feelings or treat them badly. Respect is of utmost importance and you cannot be selfish.
“If you are in love the love should be eternal.”
Here the quote means that your love cannot be and must not be just for show. Love is about giving and should not be restricted or be just about the physical aspect. It is about emotions and must be felt mentally. You have to feel it and make it eternal by being compassionate and caring from the heart.
“Trust your love and the whom you love.”
If you have surrendered yourself to love then do not doubt its power. It is a purity that comes or elates you from within. If you love someone then trust the one whom you love.
