Get Ready To Experience A Glorious Night at The DWP Gala With Innaz Communique

In 2018, we deep-dived into the Mexican rich history. Then, it was a night of sheer opulence in Dubai in 2019. Then came the red-carpet style of Gala Night in Greece where the Greek Gods came alive in 2021. This time, we are excited about what the future holds for the DWP Bali Gala Night ’22. Undoubtedly, the most-awaited and glamourous part of the Congress, the DWP Gala Night is the time when our familià enjoys a night of fine wine, pure joy and blissful connections.

To make this experience come alive, we are pleased to welcome Innaz Communique, as our DWP Gala Partner for the 8th annual DWP Congress happening from 27-29 September in Bali. The Founder- Innayat Khubchandani won DWP ACE Planner Domestic Award Winner (Asia Pacific) at the 2019 edition of the DWP Congress. With a wealth of over 12 years of experience in design, planning and management the company has planned magnificent destination weddings across Indonesia, UAE, Florence and several exotic locales. We got in touch with him to know the trends in luxury weddings and exploring about Bali as a wedding destination. Make sure to read it till the end to get a sneak peek of what we can expect to see at this year’s Gala Night as he exclusively reveals what’s in his mind.

What are the trends in luxury décor for 2022 weddings?

“The decoration we have designed this year has been very different from what we had done in the past. It was a very careful balance between trying to bring in the future and keeping it elegant. Something like video mapping in ballrooms can have a fine line between tacky or actually working in sync with the rest of the decoration and being elegant. A lot of people make mistakes when they use video mapping as the main focus of the decoration whereas it should just be a small element to provide a wow factor in the decoration. Video mapping has been around for a long time and many other technological systems have also been around for a few years but it is important how you use it – that’s what creates a wow and different effect from the last.

Also since most destination weddings have moved on to being smaller and Intimate we have been able to really play with quality over quantity. I like to play with the human senses- touch, smell, sound, and taste. All of these elements work together to give your whole-body experience instead of just your eyes.

The last thing I would say is to play it up a bit in terms of your breakdown of events. For many years we all followed a template where Day 1 was welcome dinner Day 2 pool party and sangeet Day 3 was wedding and reception. We now have thrown different options to our clients where they are getting married on day one and doing their sangeet or a sundowner on day two followed by a pool party and reception on day three. There is no rule book on when you can have what except in a few cultures. You can be smart about it and still work it into a proper system. This eventually gives us more freedom with decoration and creates a surrounding for your guest to be more comfortable.”

What are ultra HNWs and royalties looking for in the 2022 celebrations?

“People are looking for privacy. It is no more a celebration to show the world what you can do. They now want to do it for their loved ones and their guests. Clients don’t want to have all their events just in one resort and are looking into local venues that have a popular name and famous venue to throw parties at. This gives us the liberty to showcase what the destination has for the tourist and we don’t get stuck in one venue.”

How does it feel to be associated with the 8^th annual DWP Congress as Gala Partner?

“Finally, it’s happening in our backyard. We have been waiting to showcase what we can do and I am so excited to get the show on the road and really pamper all our guests.”

What can our attendees expect to see during the gala? Give us a sneak peek of what’s in your mind.

“I want them to experience INDONESIA. They have to be transported into the past, present and future of our rich culture. Entertainment will play a big factor in this year’s gala. I want it visually to be fireworks in their eyes and not a dull moment during the exciting evening.”

Bali is emerging as a hot destination for weddings + honeymoons. Being a resident of this beautiful country, tell us from your point of view what makes this ‘island of gods’ so special.

“Every culture and nationality can relate to our island. We are so diverse and hospitality is such an important aspect of our island, that it runs in our blood. We also are able to work events out at any price range from a 3-star to a 7-star. There is something for everyone.”
