A new celebrity wedding may be on the horizon if sources close to Bollywood mega star Sonam Kapoor are to be believed. According to recent reports, the actress is ready to tie the knot with her long term entrepreneur beau, Anand Ahuja in April 2018, at Jodhpur’s iconic Umaid Bhawan, in a ceremony that could very well be paralleled to UK’s version of the royal wedding in May.
Speculation is rife that wedding planners are already being sought for the high-profile couple, while their hearts are set on the grandeur setting of the Taj Hotels property for their summer nuptials. Undoubtedly, Umaid Bhawan is one of the most opulent properties in the country, an architectural splendor and a true royal experience, fit for the elite bride and groom-to-be. The heritage palace has been a hotspot for celebrity and royal weddings, previously having hosted the extravagant weddings of Liz Hurley and Arun Nayyar in 2007, Nita Ambani’s birthday bash in 2013 and various other celebratory events for Indian elite such as the Mittals, Godrejs, and the Birlas.
The glorious property, built by Maharaja Umaid Singh of Rathore Dynasty, is one of the younger palaces in India, built in the 20s, is known to be the largest and most luxurious royal residences in India, sprawling across 26 acres and perched high above the Blue City of Rajasthan.
