A Traditional Engagement In Qatar Inspired By The Ottoman Era & Luxe Arabic Touches

We love to see the traditions ruling over the modern wedding at times that still reassures us of the existence of faith and culture. The Engagement of Ghalia Al-Majid & Mohammed Al-Naimi was held in private land in Doha, Qatar on 15th July 2021 which was designed by one of the top wedding planners from the Middle East – Dalia Taha, Founder of Qatar-based wedding planning company – By Dalia Taha.

This wonderful night was inspired by the ottoman civilization mixed with the Arabic touch. So let’s travel back in time and visit the Ottoman empire.

A traditional engagement party inspired by the ancient Ottoman-era mixed with modern Arabic touches was designed. They chose kiwi and gold colors as the base color mixed with a variety of hot rose colors to create an artistic feel and complete the palette in a contemporary Ottoman spirit. The bride’s table was decorated with different types and shapes of Arabic and Ottoman sweets and cakes in modern shapes and with Ottoman touches. The guest entrance was designed and inspired by the Ottoman Saraya with the entrances and open arches covered with chiffon fabrics and colored lighting to give the feel of the Ottoman era to the guest.

Now coming to the piece which stole the show at the party – Mouthwatering gorgeous cakes! There were a variety of cakes and confectionaries laid in a very Arabic luxe setting.

The flowers placed around were embellishing the sweet structures and complimented them from each angle. The first cake was a classic white and gold 4-tier cake that had beautiful details. the second cake was made. The pastel green cake was heavily decorated with intricate Arabic motifs and designs. The high level of intricacy, unique décor and luxury set-up of this ceremony left people talking about it for days on social media.

We particularly loved the colorful vibes of this whole setup. To inspire a setup like this which looks like Byzantine and Ottoman architectural styles, and inspired by contemporary Turkish designers and classical motifs, we have got some decor recommendations for you – Ottomans and cushions, candles, lanterns, curtains, Arabesque Patterns. The beauty is that it seems to exist in both the ancient and modern world of weddings.

Talk about the jewelry – luxurious, opulent and filled with shine! Simply stunning. We congratulate the couple on beginning their new journey of life.  The bride looked like a modern-day queen adorned in gold jewelry.
