5 Grooming Tips For Grooms – Preparing For The Big Day

Tux? Check. Rings? Check. Manicure? Wait, what? When it comes to weddings, brides are usually the center of attention, so you’ll find more than enough tips on wedding prep for them. However, grooms are equally important here, and ensuring you’re ready in every way is the top priority. So, of course, get involved in the planning process, take charge of wedding tasks, and make sure you’re taking care of yourself, so you look the most dapper on your big day. And if you’re not sure where to start, here are a few tips to help you out.

1. Clean Up Well With A Haircut

Listen up, grooms! Dressing up for your wedding doesn’t end with throwing on a tux and styling your hair. Your skin, nails, and health are definitely things you need to look after to feel your best self. And you’d usually start with getting a haircut and a trim. Go to the salon for a fresh cut, but don’t risk it for the day before. Get it done a few days in advance, so you avoid any redness and irritation. This will also give your hair the time to grow out a bit, saving you the disaster of having a look you might not like.

2. Get A ‘Man’icure

Yes, you read that right. Manicures aren’t just for the brides. In fact, men have started becoming more conscious of their appearance and how they can maintain a fresh look, becoming more accepting toward light makeup and cleansing routines. And while you don’t have to put on makeup, don’t shy away from a good manicure. We get that your hands won’t be the first or even the 100th thing people will notice, but getting a good cleanup to soften your cuticles and rid the dirt between your nails not only polishes your hands but you’d be surprised by how relaxing it can be. Besides, who doesn’t love the feeling of being pampered from time to time?

3. Make Time For Skincare

Your bride spends hours and months preparing for the wedding, wanting to look her absolute best for you. It is only fair you put in some effort for her. It not only will make her feel appreciated but will also have you feeling great about yourself. Apart from your hair, your skin is a major part of your look. Up your skincare game by getting prepped 3-4 weeks before the walk down the aisle to give enough time to clear breakouts and smoothen your face. With some facial, the occasional exfoliating masks, and the right routine, you’ll be camera-ready for the main event!

4. Don’t Ignore Oral Hygiene

Oral hygiene is essential to get that million-dollar smile on camera. You’ll (hopefully) be full of smiles on your wedding day and will want to show off your pearly whites to everyone. So apart from brushing and flossing, you could consider getting a cleanup before your wedding. A bonus tip, you may want to carry a few mints in your pocket for when your mouth dries up with nerves. It will help relax before the ceremony, and the fresh breath would be pleasant for you and your bride.

5. Eat Healthy & Get Enough Sleep

That’s right. Eat right to look bright! We know how important following a healthy and balanced diet is to stay fit. Along with your pre-wedding preps of finding a suit, booking the venue, and arranging the rehearsal, make sure you’re eating healthy and staying hydrated. And by hydrated, we don’t mean reaching for the whiskey just yet. Save that for the party. Eating right will help you enrich and enhance your look and give you that natural glow everyone seems to be talking about. But that’s not all. In the midst of all the planning and partying (we see you, groomsmen, with your bachelor plans), try to get as must sleep as you can. Don’t underestimate the power of good sleep. It will help you keep fresh and active, especially considering all the guests you have to meet at your reception.
