Wait Is Over! Here Are All The Details You Need To Know From The Much-Awaited Jordan’s Crown Prince Wedding

The most awaited Royal Wedding of Jordan took place at Zahran Palace in Amman, with Rajwa and Hussein signing their marriage contracts in the presence of their fathers as witnesses. Sheikh Ahmed Al Khalayla officiated the ceremony, during which the couple recited the Fatiha verse from the Quran and exchanged rings.

Princess Rajwa looked radiant in a white asymmetrical wedding gown and veil, adorned with a silver tiara designed by Elie Saab. Princess Rajwa Al Hussein’s wedding tiara was intricately designed, bearing the phrase “tajwatum min Allah” in Arabic, symbolizing blessings bestowed by God. Accompanied by Hussein’s younger brother Hashem, she gracefully made her way through the venue. Hussein, dressed in black, white, and red military regalia embellished with gold accents, exuded regal elegance. Queen Rania donned a stunning full-length black dress with exquisite gold choker and cuff detailing from Christian Dior’s fall 2022 collection.

The wedding party and banquet were held at Al Husseiniya Palace, where guests gathered to celebrate the union of Rajwa and Hussein. Later, a 10-kilometer (6-mile) royal procession, steeped in Hashemite traditions dating back to 1946, took place between the two venues. Adorned with images of the prince, the convoy route showcased the rich heritage. Led by seventy-one members of the Royal Guard, donning red scarves, a procession of approximately twenty red Land Rovers and motorcycles captivated the onlookers. The public was invited to witness the procession in person, with free public transportation provided, and the day was declared a national holiday.

The high-profile wedding attracted royal guests from around the world who eagerly traveled to Jordan to witness this historic event. Among the distinguished attendees were King Sultan Abdullah of Malaysia, King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofía of Spain, the King and Queen of the Netherlands, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland, Prince Sébastien of Luxembourg, Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway, Princess Takamado of Japan, along with dignitaries from the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Iraq, Rwanda, Pakistan, Egypt, and Lebanon.

The night before the wedding, more than 4,000 male guests gathered at Raghadan, the oldest royal palace, for a cultural dinner party hosted by the royal court. Notable attendees included high-ranking officials, business and military figures, and representatives from various segments of Jordanian society, showcasing the heritage of Jordan’s Hashemite Arab rulers.

Adding to the international presence, U.S. First Lady Jill Biden, fresh from attending the coronation of King Charles in London, graced the wedding with her presence. She was warmly welcomed in Amman by Hadeel Aziz, the recipient of the 2023 International Women of Courage Award. Prince William and Kate Middleton, who have a deep affection for Jordan and previously visited with their children in 2021, were also esteemed guests. Kate donned an elegant blush pink Elie Saab couture dress with a high neck and long sleeves. The British couple was accompanied by Princess Beatrice of York and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
