Everybody, including the bride-to-be, knew that Munesh was going to propose at some point. But little did they know that his plans were elaborate. He had a dramatic setup ready for his clueless then-girlfriend, on the cliffs of Newport Rhode Island, with the ocean as a backdrop – a beautiful proposal straight out of a novel. A gesture this romantic demanded a wedding to match.
The couple approached Sonal Shah, NY based wedding planner who specialises in extravagant celebrations in far off destinations. She planned their three-day festivities in the quintessentially Caribbean island of Aruba, filled with ample sun and sea and stretches of powdery white sand. The pastel façades and playful vibe across the Hilton Aruba hotel by the turquoise waters was a pleasant escape from the chilly streets of New York and the perfect backdrop for their traditional Indian wedding complete with sangeet, baraat and off course, the floral mandap. The colour palette was kept delightfully light and breezy with pink flowers and textiles justaposed against clear blue skies. Sonal tells us, “Not only did all their guests fly in for the wedding, but majority of their main vendors flew in as well. It was no easy feat, but nonetheless it was a seamless collaboration to create the couple’s dream luxury wedding. It was a three-day extravaganza that no one will ever forget!”
From a surprise fire performance from one of the guests to a baraat on a private boat, this wedding is surely one that friends and family of the couple still rave about. With the perfect sunset and blue waters as the backdrop, this was the picture-perfect wedding our couple has always dreamed of.
