Congratulations are in order as childhood sweethearts Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta have tied the knot in a lavish ceremony last night at the brand new Jio World Center located in Mumbai, India. The starry affair included several pre-wedding functions that enthralled one and all.

Known as India’s wealthiest man, Mukesh Ambani left no stone unturned for his elder son’s extravagant pre-wedding festivities. The couple along with approximately 300 guests travelled via private jets to the immaculate luxury alpine resort town in Switzerland’s Engadin valley, St. Moritz. The winter wonderland themed bash saw numerous Bollywood stars in attendance such as; Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, etc. The three-day revelries were the talk of the town as highly acclaimed British musician and Coldplay’s front man, Chris Martin along with EDM-Pop duo, The Chainsmokers set the stage on fire!

After a luxurious trip to St.Moritz, the pre-wedding occasions in Mumbai consisted of various ethnic celebrations including a folk night (Dandiya Raas Night), henna night (Mala and Mehendi), cultural food serving function for underprivileged children (Anna Daan) and many glamorous techno raves catered towards the youngsters. The lavish décor and traditional floral arrangements followed a saffron, emerald and violet colour scheme.

The flamboyant wedding day celebrations began at the Ambani’s 27 storeyed plush property which was adorned with bespoke floral ornamentation. The grandeur of the lighting and vibrancy of the floral patterns paid tribute to Lord Krishna. The groom’s wedding procession (Baraat) commenced in full swing with immense euphoria and merriment. The star-studded guestlist included; politicians and global business leaders Tony Blair and his wife Cherie Blair, former Secretary General of United Nations Ban Ki-Moon, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Netflix Co-founder Reed Hastings, Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Khalid Al- Falih as well as numerous VIP dignitaries, Bollywood superstars and world-renowned sports personalities.

The bride stunned in a bespoke Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla bejewelled, hand-embroidered crimson gilded lehenga. The awe-inspiring floral installations at the nuptial ceremony held at the three halls and adjoining sprawling gardens of Jio World Centre were custom-made by ace wedding designer, Preston Bailey along with several talented wedding designers and florists from across the globe.
