Sabyasachi’s New Bridal Collection is Perfect for Destination Weddings

Sabyasachi Mukherjee – the most desired bridal couture designer for Asian weddings sprung up a fresh new surprise just in time for the spring weddings to kick off.  ‘An Endless Summer’ – Sabya’s Spring Summer 2018 collection is a treat for the eyes and the soul. Taking a detour from a runway presentation, Sabyasachi released the collection on his Instagram for all, revealing three themes – sprightly florals, vibrant hues and classic ivory & gold – the designer takes us on a quirky but delightful journey right from Alice’s fantastical adventures in Wonderland, across the quiet opulence of Lutyens’ Delhi, through the meandering gullies of Banaras and into the Gemini Circus of his childhood. Captured by ace photographer Tarun Vishwa in the sprawling gardens of Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, feast your eyes on the Sabya’s vibrant take on the modern bride.

In Sabyasachi’s words, “Destination weddings are quite shaping the future of bridal wear. Taking cues from our heritage, and marrying them to contemporary needs, we at Sabyasachi are constantly redefining Indian bridal wear. ‘An Endless Summer’ is almost a ready-to-wear take on bridal couture. Effortless chic being the buzzword, the clothes are lighter, brighter, measured and sophisticated. Post Anushka’s wedding, the new beauty trend is ‘au naturel’. Colour gets out of make-up completely and dives into clothes. An imperceptible flush on the cheek, glossy and glassy lips, mirrored sunnies, open hair and statement jewellery create the new look. Wear colour with confidence and mash it up with panache. A traditional Amritsari maang-tikka is the new accent as it sits pretty amidst cadmium yellow florals and turquoise silk.”

As for men, Sabyasachi has introduced very outdoorsy, refined and cool looks in crisp white poplin along with Palampore chintz remastered on bleached cotton, quilted and textured designs and cheent makes an appearance in hyper-volatile colours. Printed in fine khadi to create languid men’s kurta-churidaars. Best paired with strong and bold textured silk Nehru jackets, leheriya safas and classic aviators.
