Real Life Disney Venues To Check Out For An Unforgettable Wedding Or Honeymoon Experience

Did you know that Disneyland (aka the happiest place on Earth) has its very own wedding consultants? With Disney’s Fairytale Weddings, there is no better way to have a theme wedding than at the magical theme park. And as if that isn’t enough, there are gorgeous places around the world where you can experience the dreamy locations of Disney in real life too!

Disney may be all fairytales, but the castles featured in some of these animated classics really do exist! So if you’ve always wanted to feel like a true princess and get married at a castle or spend your honeymoon exploring some almost unreal places, here are a few venues you must check out that inspired many of our favorite childhood movies.

Remember the castle Rapunzel was taken away from? Yes, that does exist! And no, your eyes aren’t fooling you. The isolated castle is in Mont St Michel in France and is one of the best locations for an Insta-worthy photo op. Surrounded by water and the view of a magical sunset or a starlit sky above, who wouldn’t feel love in the air here?

Château de Chambord, Chambord, France (Beauty and The Beast)

Château de Chambord is the largest Château in France’s Loire Valley and the inspiration behind the spooky but beautiful castle that Prince Adam (aka the beast) is hiding away in. Designed to exude royal luxury to the max, it’s no wonder Disney took to this stunning Renaissance architecture for some inspiration. And a tour of this place is enough to make you want to waltz like Belle and the beast.

Neuschwanstein Castle, Schwangau, Germany (Sleeping Beauty & Cinderella)

Yes, this gorgeous landmark has inspired not one but two Disney classics! The iconic castles of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty are both inspired by the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, which was historically home to Ludwig II, King of Bavaria. This medieval-style château was designed by the King in the 19th century and remains a real-life fairytale oasis to this day.

What would really blow minds is visiting Ariel’s undersea kingdom, but we know that’s a little far-fetched. Instead, you may want to take a look at Prince Eric’s on-land castle on the shores of the gorgeous Lake Geneva. The lakeside castle is one of the most visited in Switzerland with a beautiful view you wouldn’t want to miss. Besides, it’s Switzerland!

Eilean Donan Castle, Scottish Highlands, Scotland (Brave)

If you’ve seen the movie, it’s quite obvious that the story takes place in Scotland. But there are numerous castles all across the country and the rest of the UK. So which part of Scotland inspired this animated film? Located in the Scottish Highlands, the Eilean Donan Castle was a major inspiration behind the movie’s settings, with towering mountains, ancient ruins, and unmatched landscapes. It is one of the most popular castles in Scotland for couples to get married in.

Angel Falls, Auyan-tepui Mountain, Venezuela (Up!)

Yes, you can visit Paradise Falls, and you don’t even need a floating house with a thousand balloons to get there. The actual waterfall that inspired the movie creators is the famous Angel Falls in Venezuela. And although it isn’t easy getting to the top of the world’s highest, uninterrupted waterfall, it surely will not be disappointing. So if you’re a couple that loves a good challenge and always looks for adventures together, this may be the perfect one for you.

If you love the snow and have always been the adventure-lover who isn’t afraid to try out new things, why not embrace your inner ice Queen and get married at the Hotel de Glace? It may not quite look like Elsa’s icy abode, but it sure does give you the vibes nonetheless. Apart from themed suites and rooms, the ice hotel has a chapel and a fun slide you can take full advantage of. Norway’s Bergen is also a magical place during the winters, the actual setting of which inspired the look of Anna and Elsa’s village.
