Bollywood Superstar’s Dreamy Nuptials

After immense conjecture, Bollywood superstars Ranveer Singh & Deepika Padukone finally announced the details of their marriage through a public Instagram post which stated that their nuptials would take place on 14th and 15th November 2018. Held at the magnificent Villa del Balbianello overlooking the shimmering Lake Como in Italy, the intimate two-day affair consisted of various Indian rituals including a traditional South Indian ceremony and an Anand Karaj ceremony as per Punjabi customs.

The exquisite couple were decked from head to toe in Sabyasachi bridal wear throughout the course of their various splendid ceremonials. Sabyasachi is a world-renowned fashion designer hailing from Kolkata, India. Over the years, he has styled several A-list celebrities for innumerable occasions.

For her Konkani wedding, Deepika chose to wear a stunning Kanjeevaram sari gifted to her by her mother whilst Ranveer complimented her in a classic white and gold kurta dhoti. Sabyasachi’s customised outfits for the Sindhi ceremony of the regal couple were comprised of a vibrant mix of pink and red hues along with the kind of opulent jewellery bridal dreams are made of. Deepika’s vermillion red Sabyasachi lehenga was accompanied by a traditional Indian embroidered veil that had an auspicious quote embedded; ‘Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava’ which roughly translates to ‘may you always share a sacred bond of love and togetherness’.

After their return to India, the Bollywood sweethearts have hosted several revelries for their loved ones as well as the incredibly dedicated media fraternity. The Bangalore reception at the regal Leela Palace saw many family members, friends and sports stars in attendance. The couple donned colour co-ordinated designer attires in imperial black and gold styled by Sabyasachi.

On November 24th 2018, the newlyweds attended a lavish wedding bash organised by Ranveer’s sister, Ritika Bhavnani at the luxurious Grand Hyatt in Mumbai. Perfect for the unconventional bridal look, Deepika stunned in a bold, dramatic Sabyasachi bejewelled ensemble complete with a bespoke intricate floral headpiece inspired by Mexican artist turned style icon, Frida Kahlo, who is undoubtedly one of the most recognisable faces in Latin culture. Channelling her inner Kahlo, Deepika danced the night away in her bohemian rose-tinted lehenga.
