Prepping Your Website For Visitors

Be it couples, planners, designers, or vendors, if there’s one place we all are not maintaining social distance is – online. And we shouldn’t! This is the time to reconnect with everyone and devise a marketing strategy. As clients begin to reconcile with planning events, in addition to asking for referrals, they will also go to the web to find new ones. How ready is your site for the influx of new clients looking to celebrate either this fall or next year? Some of the most frustrating things for visitors: speed, lack of mobile translation, and no contact info. Don’t forget to maximize your site so that it is easily found by Google – where most couples start their search. Here are some tips to help you get started!

Title Tag

Get creative and intentional with the title tags for your pages. Here is a chance to incorporate your keywords in a clear, natural way to ensure search engines pick them up. SEO plays a big role in your website discovery. Make it catchy, crisp, and unique.

Contact Info

Ensure that your email address and telephone number are in the footer or in each page. Your contact page should also have detailed information on how to get in touch with you. Social media details should be present on the homepage for visitors to immediately access your work.

Double-check that your site properly formats for mobile devices. A majority of your clients will access the site from your phone. Make sure that the experience is just as immersive as it is on the desktop.

Images

Use relevant images to your brand and booking season on your site. Have a mix of details, candid, and professional photos for consideration. Take care to properly use your photos alt tags and give them credits. When it comes to color, usually a theme works well.

The best way to showcase your work and appear as an expert is to blog. Use search terms and questions your potential clients would ask as inspiration for posts. People have time now to read about the wedding industry know-how. Give your readers a visual treat to inspire them with your content.

Header Tag

Break up your content with header tags. This makes the page visually appealing and gives the eye a break. If relevant, use your keywords in a header tag to give your page a boost in the search engine’s result page.

Speed

Make sure that there is noting slowing your website down. Optimize all your photos and remove any unnecessary scripts that increase the load time. Usually, videos tend to slow down the speed, so make sure that they work smoothly and does not overload the site.
