Inside The Grand Debut Of Rosewood Phuket

Off the beachfront of the pristine Emerald Bay on the South of Patong, the launch of Rosewood Phuket marked the brand’s first ever chapter in South East Asia. Opening their gates to the world in November, the luxury resort blends together soft woods and subtle Thai influences; and is built to be environmentally sensitive and advanced in innovative services.

Designed by Melbourne-based BAR Studio, the luxury seaview accommodations feature 71 pool pavilions and villas—bringing together contemporary and traditional architectural mixes. All are nestled among elements of nature, including hilltop forest, lakes, wetland and of course, the beach. With a particular emphasis on indoor-outdoor living for guests, the property is built with the intention to provide for a gorgeous backdrop for destination weddings with its beautiful hall – The Pavilion – rich in a light and spacious indoor area and a big garden and beach lawn overlooking the sea.

Potential clients can take the first steps on their wedding journey in the Event Studio, a one-stop wedding service who walk you through the planning stages of all intimate ceremonies and seated dinners. A Glass House indoor space with panoramic views over the bay through has been designed with an indoor extravagant cocktail reception in mind, and Courtyard set to be an enclosed and shaded outdoor space offering a charming and refined venue for rehearsal dinners, pre-wedding gatherings, bridal luncheons or private dinners.

“In design, art, cuisine and most especially in gracious service synonymous with Thai culture, at Rosewood Phuket our brand’s A Sense of Place philosophy has found a rich context in which to flourish,” says Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group. “We are also thrilled that guests will experience our first Asaya, an innovative concept in holistic and integrative wellness journeys.” Asaya, the group’s new integrated wellness concept offers lifestyle coaching, traditional healing treatments and alternative therapies such as Watsu Therapy, Reiki Healing, Chi Nei Tsang, Life Force Healing Therapy and Sound Therapy.. Ideal for brides-to-be, the “Wellness Ateliers” at Asaya create bespoke experiences allowing guests to pick organic, homegrown herbs and ingredients to be used in tailored treatments.

“Our resort opens a window to a unique Phuket experience in this very special setting, be it a romantic getaway or family and friends holiday, a once-in-lifetime celebration or a journey to discover the hidden natural wonders of the island,” says Andrew Turner, managing director of Rosewood Phuket.
