We got in touch with Hamsa Mahmood, the Event Manager at Dubai Opera to learn more about the various opportunities that the luxe venue provides for the ultimate fairy-tale wedding, keeping the landmark’s authenticity intact.

Dubai Opera is the perfect venue if you are looking for a breathtaking location for a truly unique and special day. Dubai Opera has state-of-the-art audio-visual technology and support systems to ensure an unmatched events experience. The main auditorium houses cutting-edge hydraulic technology and moving floor plates that allows the space to transform into the different modes including flat floors for a multitude of events including gala dinners and weddings for up to 1000 guests.
How is the Emirati culture showcased within the weddings at the Dubai Opera?
Everything about Dubai Opera, including its very shape, is distinct and specific to the region. The Arabian Dhow is an integral part of the history, heritage, tradition and subsequent development of Dubai and it provides the inspiration for this incredible venue. We also have specially commissioned sculptures and art works on display across the venue which create a very special space and experience.
How do you work with prospective couples looking to host their nuptial ceremony at the Dubai Opera? What services do you provide?
We offer a wide range of world class facilities and exceptional service for hosting weddings including, but not limited to: a dedicated event manager in order to achieve a seamless experience from wedding conception to execution on the day, 5 -star catering (menu choice can range from buffet to set menu or family style, to suit the bridal couple’s preference and wedding concept), complimentary dressing room facilities for the bridal couple and their families and complimentary use of the VIP Majlis for the groom on the day of the wedding, complimentary dance floor set up, complimentary menu tasting for up to 4 people for the selected wedding menu, complimentary personalized way finding signage, Dubai Opera ushers for welcoming guests, complimentary tables with luxury table linens and chairs and complimentary access to the Dubai Opera venue for wedding photoshoots.
According to you, what are some of the best weddings hosted at the Dubai Opera? Give us some insight on the setup, decor and overall experience.
We have had the pleasure of hosting a number of weddings to date and every wedding has been quite remarkable in its own special way. Some of the highlights include an 18-piece all female orchestra performing at a reception, famous Arabic singers putting on incredible private performances at various occasions, mesmerizing light shows, the creation of lush in-door gardens, projection of the couple’s initials on the building façade and much more. From our very first wedding and every subsequent wedding we have played host to, Dubai Opera Events Team has delivered a seamless turnkey experience from concept design and décor to catering, menu tasting and arranging hotel accommodation to name but a few. Whilst we don’t have a concierge service, we have in the past always assisted our guests by providing dressing rooms, transformed The Studio into a beautifully appointed makeup/dressing room for the bride, and have had the foyers cleared for a female only photoshoot. No request is ever denied!
Tell us more about Dubai Opera as a venue for weddings? How do you transform the space?
Dubai Opera has the exceptional ability to transform into 3 modes: from a theatre into a concert hall and into a ‘flat floor’ mode that converts to a banquet or event hall. This seamless flexibility has and continues to enable Dubai Opera to host a wide variety of performances and events including theatre, opera, ballet, orchestras, concerts, gala dinners, conferences, awards ceremonies and weddings. Depending on the event, the configuration allows for around 2000 seats for a concert and up to 1000 for a gala dinner. Dubai Opera also boasts several spaces and venues other than the auditorium for weddings and associated events, including a spectacular rooftop restaurant called The Loft, a luxuriously appointed Majlis for VIP hosting and entertaining along with Dubai Opera Studio. The Promenade and exceptional Dubai Opera Garden can host an array of events that offer the most exclusive viewpoints in Downtown Dubai.

We think Dubai is an appealing wedding destination because couples can truly find the destination wedding of their dreams here. Dubai is home to several iconic venues that deliver the “wow” factor, high levels of customer service, fantastic weather, incredible facilities and the list goes on!
