Head Over Heels For Elie Saab’s Haute Couture SS20 Clicked By Greg Finck

Elie Saab cast a spell when he unveiled his SS20 Haute Coutre Collection in Paris Fashion Week 2020. It was a sheer platter of opulence served on the stage and was truly a visual treat to his fans. In true Elie Saab style, it was far from minimal and celebrated the female form in every way. They are everything grand, luxurious and meticulous. Greg Finck, a renowned photographer in the world of fashion captured the essence of Saab’s couture impeccably on the backstage of Paris Fashion Week.

The Haute Couture Spring Summer 2020 collection intertwines the regal past of both Europe & Mexico, bringing them together in the present. The dresses looked as if immersed in an uninterrupted stream of curlicued embroideries, incrustations of florals and pearls, and intarsia-ed baroque swirls. The dazzling collection featured shades of white, cream and blush, with intricate gold detailing, while structured shoulders added a certain strength to otherwise romantic evening gowns.

Sensuality and ostentation are an Elie Saab staple and it was evident here with monochromatic looks, matte fabrics, domed sleeves, and masterful silhouettes. There were complex looks with layer upon layer of details but they paved the way for simple elegance in the form of one-color gowns. Maximalism was extended to the accessories with Cinderella-worthy gold pumps and oversized sunglasses decorated with crystals.
