The United Arab Emirates holds over 200 records and is ranked at the top of the list for the most title holders in the Middle East. Known as the city of superlatives, Dubai holds several world records itself. Here are some of the coolest world records broken by the golden city. Tallest Building In The World

You would undoubtedly feel on top of the world at the tallest building in the world. Renowned for its outstanding architecture, the Burj Khalifa stands proud at 828 metres and remains unbeaten in the world records list since its inception in 2008. However, the Dubai Creek Tower aims to take over the record within the next few years.

 

Highest Lounge In The World

The Burj Khalifa has managed to break another world record with the highest lounge in the world. Enjoy the panoramic views as you catch up with your friends over drinks and dinner at this sumptuous lounge located on floor 122 of the world’s most recognisable tower.

 

Tallest Topiary Structure

The world’s largest natural floral garden, Dubai Miracle Garden unveiled an 18-metre floral structure of the iconic Disney character, Mickey Mouse in honour of its 90th anniversary. The tallest topiary sculpture (supported) boasts of 100, 000 blossoms of various varieties and weighs approximately 35 tonnes.

The luxurious Dubai Mall is located in the heart of the city. Sprawling over 12 million square feet, is the largest shopping mall in the world based on total area. Containing over 1,200 stores, 22 grand cinema screens, an array of dining options, an extravagant indoor aquarium, amongst several other lavish amenities, Dubai Mall is truly a shopaholic’s dream come true! All set to break this magnificent record is an upcoming mall which is to be located within the extensive Mohammad Bin Rashid City.

 

Largest Choreographed Fountain

Located on the 30-acre manmade Burj Khalifa Lake, the Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest choreographed fountain. The fantastical fountain system is illuminated by 6,600 lights and 50 coloured projectors. It is 275 metres long and shoots water up to 500 feet into the air. It is also accompanied by an amalgamation of classical and contemporary Arabic and world music.

 

Largest Indoor Theme Park

IMG Worlds of Adventure is the largest indoor theme park in the world. The massive amusement park has an epic range of thrilling rides and attractions. It has the capacity to host a whopping 20,000 guests a day!

 

Longest Handmade Gold Chain

Dubai isn’t just called the ‘City Of Gold’ for nothing! The Dubai Celebration Chain is the longest handmade gold chain in the world. The 22-carat opulent creation is 5 kilometres long and weighs 240 kilograms. Unveiled in 2015, in honour of the Dubai Shopping Festival’s 20th anniversary, it took over 45 days and 100 craftsmen to form!

 

World’s Largest Picture Frame

Framing the city’s shimmering skyline, the Dubai Frame is the world’s largest picture frame. Situated in Dubai’s Zabeel Park, the colossal edifice is nearly 500 feet tall and rises 150 meters from ground level. World’s Fastest Police Cars

The Dubai Police owns a flock of the world’s fastest cars including the Bugatti Veyron which has an unbelievable top-speed of 407 km/h and a 1000-horsepower and a 16-cylinder engine. The lethal supercar can go from 0 to 97 km/h in a mere 2.5 seconds! It’s comes as no surprise that the Dubai Police holds a world record of having the fastest police car in service.

 

World’s Tallest Hotel

The golden Gevora Hotel is 356 metres tall and is officially the tallest hotel in the world. Situated alongside the bustling Sheikh Zayed Road of Dubai, its spans over 75 floors and offers a total of 528 rooms.

 

Most Expensive Perfume (To Be Launched)

The world’s most expensive and luxurious perfume, ‘Shumukh’, will be unveiled in March. It pays tribute to the spirit of Dubai. Valued at AED 4.752 million, Shumukh is set with 3,571 sparkling diamonds, topaz, pearls, and constructed from gold and pure silver.
