Coronavirus Pandemic Cancels The Royal Wedding Reception!

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi wedding plans for May 29 have been put on hold over the coronavirus pandemic. The couple was due to marry at St. James’s Palace in London, before Beatrice’s grandmother the Queen hosted a private reception in Buckingham Palace’s gardens. But royal officials revealed today that this reception has been canceled – and the couple could now host a private marriage with a ‘small group of family and friends’ after carefully considering the government advice.  Around 150 guests had been due at the ceremony for the wedding of Beatrice – Prince Andrew’s eldest daughter – which was set to be one of the social events of 2020.

There have been 2600+ positive cases in the UK as of the 18th of March 2020. The Royal Family had to make a number of changes to upcoming engagements due to the coronavirus. The Queen has already been moved to Windsor Castle as a precaution. Three garden parties she hosts annually at Buckingham Palace are canceled this year, along with two others that were to benefit the Not Forgotten Association and the National Trust. These are events where large numbers of people were scheduled to attend, the Palace says.
