Acre is a 25-acre piece of farmland adjacent to San Jose del Cabo. When Cameron and Stuart purchased it six years ago, the property included nothing but a mango orchard with 100 mature trees.The restaurant, cocktail bar, event space, swimming pool and surrounding farms are the first phase.

Twelve tree-houses will be added to the existing palm forest for this December.

The full 25 acres are being developed as space for people to relax, learn, rejuvenate, and celebrate.

It's our belief that people appreciate authenticity in their surroundings, and all efforts have been made to keep ACRE true to its natural environment. The walls of the restaurant are made from compressing the surrounding earth. The shade structures above are made with sticks from local Palo de Arco trees. All of the furniture, dishware, lighting, and accessories come from the Baja or the Mexican mainland.

The Treehouse accommodations are situated within the natural palm forest on the property. Each treehouse has a king size bed, toilet, sink, patio, and storage area for clothes. The shower is outside on the terrace. The walls allow breezes and views of the surrounding palm trees.

There are a number of farms that surround the main buildings. Herbs, citrus trees, vegetables, flowers, and mangos are abundant.  A small enclosure houses a small herd of Nigerian dwarf goats, roosters, chickens, and peacocks. Eventually the extra rich milk from these tiny goats will be used for desserts and other dishes in the restaurant. Guests are free to explore these areas on their own, or we can guide them on a tour and explain things in detail.

Guests are also free to explore the grounds where they are free to engage in a game of Bocce, ping pong or badminton. Giant Jenga is situated beside the communal firepit.

Shortly, a small “general store” will be completed. This small, boxlike structure will pay  homage to the small “mini-supers” that dot rural Mexico. this small shop will sell snacks, souvenirs, deli foods, farm produce and other products from the Acre’s farms.
