Wai Kwan & Evan’s Beautiful Ever After In Lombok, Indonesia

And such was the picturesque wedding of Wai Kwan and Even in Lombok, Indonesia captured beautifully by DWP Insider member Sylvain Bouzat, an ace wedding photographer based in France.

THE LOVE STORY

Wai Kwan and Evan met each other at a Salsa dance bar in 2018 in Hong Kong, and ever since then there has been no turning back. They both found the perfect mate in each other, and in 2022 Evan decided to take the next step towards beginning a new life together. He proposed to Wai during their Indonesian holiday, and just a year later they celebrated their union and got married at the very same hotel in Lombok where they had embarked on their proposal holiday.

INSPIRATION BEHIND THE DESIGN & DÉCOR

The spirit of the wedding was turned towards the natural elements in a magnificent five-star resort by the sea in Bali. The decor was simple but very meticulous, with colourful local flowers and special attention paid to all the little details. The flowers added a touch of orange, red and rose to liven things up. They were chosen to bring the right touch of colour and sparkle between pink, red and orange, without forgetting the green palms typical of Indonesian beaches.

THE ICONIC VENUE

The couple chose The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok as their wedding venue. The venue was the same where the couple enjoyed their stay a year ago during their holiday, and the decision to choose this very hotel comes across as quite an obvious one. The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok not only rekindled Wai & Evan’s fond memories, but also laid the foundation for the beginning of their forever.

The couple explained that they chose The Oberoi as their dream wedding venue because of the service and the staff. And also, because they wanted to soak in the essence of being in the Tropics!

THE ALLURING WEDDING CEREMONY

In the presence of close family and friends, Wai and Even embarked together on their new journey of life. The wedding was a simple yet a very elegant and charming one, where the couple exchanged their vows on the beach at sunset under a large tree. And the evening turned memorable, and was epic, with the dance floor ablaze and the bride drenched in champagne!

The moments were captured beautifully by Sylvain Bouzat, and the bride and groom could not stop beaming with happiness upon seeing the pictures. “We chose Sylvain as our photographer for our destination wedding because he was so genuine and so easy to connect with! He made everyone feel so at ease so that the photos came out very naturally. We wanted candid photos rather than posed photos and Sylvain was perfect at capturing this. We absolutely loved seeing our photos – it was wonderful to relive the day again and to see and feel the emotions captured in the pictures” the couple said.
