Another love story and another couple walked into the newest phase of their life, beginning their journey of togetherness, and this time we bring to you a wedding curated by DWP Insider Premium Member The Vow Weavers, who transformed this couple’s vision of a big fat Indian wedding into reality! We take you through the behind-the-scenes of this stunning wedding that took place in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
After a lot of venue hunting and going around the globe, Shreya, Pankaj and their families found the venue of their choice – the Hyatt Regency Jaipur Mansarovar. It was the perfect backdrop for their two-day wedding extravaganza. With just two months to plan, they found the dynamic duo, Nitisha Shetty and Neelam Madnani from The Vow Weavers, who brought their grand vision to life.
SHREYA & PANKAJ’S FAIRYTALE ROMANCE
It all began at a New Year’s Eve Party in 2019, when Shreya, having no other plans, found herself at Pankaj’s New Year celebration in Dubai with his cousin. Among the glitter of the night, fate introduced her to Pankaj for the first time. Their conversations sparked instant chemistry, but the night ended without any grand declarations. The next morning, Pankaj reached out for dinner plans, which unfortunately never materialized, and life carried on.
Months passed and another attempt to meet—this time for kayaking—was planned by Pankaj’s cousin. Yet again, it didn’t happen. It seemed the universe had other plans for them. After a year of near-misses, in 2020, they finally met.
That night, they ended up club-hopping and talking late into the night. What followed was a magical month filled with breakfasts, adventure, and long dinners where Pankaj would drive to the other end of the city to see Shreya. It wasn’t long before Pankaj made his intentions official. On January 21st 2020, through a sweet and thoughtful email, he invited her for a special dinner at his favourite Italian restaurant, where he charmed her with another chat about stars, but this time, it made Shreya fall for him.
A secret birthday trip to Italy was the highlight of their love story until the families finally agreed to their beautiful union.
For Nitisha & Neelam, the couple’s vision was clear from the very beginning – their vision wasn’t just about décor, it was about transforming spaces into immersive experiences! And this is exactly what TVW duo worked towards, the results of which you will witness throughout this feature.
THE FUN-FILLED PRE-WEDDING FESTIVITIES
Pre-wedding festivities in the Indian culture are as important as the wedding itself. So there were no stones left unturned to ensure that the couple and their families get into the festive mode and the ‘big fat Indian wedding vibe’ from the very beginning. The haldi ceremony for Shreya and the saat shagun for Pankaj had a theme of yellow and white making it cozy and quaint, while the mehendi ceremony along with sticking to the traditional green theme also included a burst of pink making it vibrant and chic.
The couple and their guests had a lot of fun. They enjoyed various activities, danced along and even had a gift cart! Since the mehendi was an afternoon event, refreshing light cocktails and sangrias were served. Food had a lavish spread of live stations and finger food, bite-sized appetizers and one-meal dishes.
THE VIVACIOUS SANGEET
For the sangeet, Shreya’s Moroccan dream was about more than just rugs and spices; it was about creating an atmosphere that transported guests to another world. From décor to the food, everything was screaming Moroccan. And The Vow Weavers team delivered just that! Inspired by the bustling souks, she transformed the venue with rugs, spices, and hanging rugs. The usual stages were swapped for an immersive experience that felt straight out of a storybook. It was a sangeet that no one would forget. In Shreya’s words, she wanted her décor to be “mind blowing and maximalist”, which is exactly what she got.
In terms of food too, the brief for the menu was to have street food from Morocco. From kebabs, seekhs, an Arabic grazing table which had different varieties of hummus like classic chickpea, beetroot, spinach & avocado, Baba Ghanoush, Muhammara, Muttabal, Falafel, Pita breads to marinated and pickled olives and veggies.
THE DREAMY WEDDING
The couple’s vision for the ceremony was rooted in timeless elegance—a red, ivory, and gold palette. The mandap was adorned with cascading flowers, creating a dome of blooms. A live flute and Tabla artist serenaded the event, bringing serenity and grace to the atmosphere. The bride and groom in their respective Sabyasachi and Varoin Marwah ensembles looked like royalty, and with the fireworks to conclude the ceremony, the venue lit up in its complete glory to bless the new couple!
THE GRANDEUR OF THE RECEPTION
The secret garden reception was like stepping into a fairy tale! Dancers dressed as animals roamed the event, while the bar was hidden beneath a jungle of florals in shades of blue, green, and purple. The ballroom was so completely transformed that it felt like guests were walking into a mystical forest.
From a gastronomical point of view too, this event was well thought of! This evening had western cuisine from the different destinations that the couple had travelled to. It had Singaporean laksa soup to Truffle arancini for appetizers to an antipasti salad station, Charcuterie boards and more. It also featured live stations with a sushi bar and a dim sum and tempura counter.
Just like any other couple, Shreya & Pankaj’s big day too was a dream that Nitisha, Neelam and their talented team at The Vow Weavers made it come to life. At The Vow Weavers, they ensure a couple’s big day tells their love story in the most beautiful way. When they say ‘we’ll knot let you down’, they mean it, and it’s their vow to you! The couple too corroborates with this and extend their heartfelt gratitude to The Vow Weavers. “Their passion and cooperation truly set them apart in the world of wedding planning. Thank you, Nitisha & Neelam and the entire team at Vow Weavers, for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime” quote Shreya & Pankaj!
