Love Always Wins – An Intimate Masked Wedding In Puerto Rico With Pretty Floral Details

What started as a casual meet up, followed up by constant interactions, ended up in a happily-ever-after on December 14th of 2020 for this couple – Jonathan and Norma.

Planning a wedding amidst a pandemic is not easy. But definitely not impossible. This wedding is one such example. Sure, they had to make alterations for their big day, but tackling all the challenges, they chose to go ahead with an intimate and safe ceremony ensuring all the safety protocols are in place to have a wonderful time without worrying.

The altar was a picture-perfect setting done by a Puerto Rico-based wedding planner – Dora Thillet. A heavenly floral arch against the infinite ocean background was set up that had roses, baby’s breath, pampas grass and greenery. Talking about the personalization trend in 2021 weddings, we love the placement of the couple’s picture on the table as a placeholder.

‘Luxurious simplicity’ is another trend that we saw which we expect to see more in 2021 weddings. The pretty minimalistic bouquet blended well with the overall decor. Oh, and the nude cake embellished with edible florals was too pretty to eat.

The ceremony took place in the morning in Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde, Puerto Rico which is framed by uninterrupted Atlantic Ocean views. All the safety protocols were in place to ensure the safety of guests – wearing face masks, hand sanitizers, social distancing. This couple exchanged their vows doing the foot-washing ritual. This ceremony is considered an act of love, respect, tolerance, and affection.

The ceremony ended with love, laughter and moments of fun. We always love to see couples going ahead with their wedding tackling the challenges of the pandemic and not giving up on their love.

Dora shares her experience of planning a wedding in such. times. “What a year 2020 it has been! Planning a wedding during a pandemic as COVID-19 was a real challenge: postponed and/or downsized the weddings, handling clients and our emotions, safety protocols, limitations, etc. But work with couples like Norma & Jonathan to reinforce you to keep doing your best. Because of a new Executive Order, they need to rearrange their big day. But they finally tied the knot in a touching ceremony. One that I’ll cherish forever.”
