Inside Princess Beatrice’s Gorgeous Intimate Royal Wedding

It was a romantic, dreamy wedding- till yesterday, all we could do was imagine what the out-of-the-blue wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi would have been like, but not anymore, ‘cause Buckingham Palace has finally shared their swoon-worthy wedding photos.

The ceremony was attended by Her Royal Highnesses grandparents and the couple’s parents and siblings. Edoardo’s son Wolfie was the best man and pageboy. It was originally scheduled for May 29. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the couple had to push back their nuptials.

The couple was married in a small private ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge Windsor on Friday 17th July 2020. Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi celebrated their wedding with their closest family.‬ The happy couple is pictured with Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

A Sustainable Wedding

Talk about sustainability and smart decisions! Princess’s bridal look is probably the new trend to set! Her majestic “something borrowed” was straight out of dreams as every bit of her wedding was oozing royalness and depicted a long history. Princess Beatrice has definitely demonstrated you can still have a wedding of dreams whilst following restrictions. This stunning day was organized in the space of two weeks. Princess Beatrice just showed all brides that you can definitely have a royal wedding without all the pomp and ceremony.

The Dress

In a tribute to her grandmother, Her Royal Highness wore a Norman Hartnell vintage dress worn multiple times by her grandmother, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II – most notably to the 1967 State Opening of Parliament. It was remodeled and fitted by Angela Kelly and Stewart Parvin. The dress is made from Peau De Soie taffeta in shades of ivory, trimmed with ivory Duchess satin, with organza sleeves. It is encrusted with diamanté and has a geometric checkered bodice.

Historic Tiara

For the tiara, Beatrice donned the Queen Mary’s Diamond Fringe Tiara, both belonging to Her Majesty The Queen. The tiara was worn by Her Majesty on her wedding day on 20 November 1947 and Princess Anne with Mark Phillips on her wedding day on 13 November 1973. Queen Mary’s Fringe Tiara was made by E. Wolff & Co. for Garrard & Co. in 1919 and includes 47 diamond bars separated by smaller diamond spikes. As was her usual practice, Mary had an existing jewel dismantled to make the new piece: a Collingwood & Co. stylized diamond fringe necklace she received as a wedding gift from Queen Victoria in 1893. Mary’s Fringe Tiara can be removed from its frame for use as a necklace. In 1936, Queen Mary gave her fringe tiara to Queen Elizabeth who wore it regularly during George VI’s reign. Queen Elizabeth loaned the tiara to her daughter Princess Elizabeth II.

Florals

Beatrice carried a bouquet of trailing jasmine, pale pink and cream sweet peas, royal porcelain ivory spray roses, pink O’Hara garden roses, pink waxflower and baby pink astilbe. In keeping with royal tradition, sprigs of myrtle were included in the bouquet. The bouquet was made by Patrice Van Helden, co-owner of RVH Floral Design. Also keeping with royal tradition, the bride’s bouquet has now been placed on the tomb of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey.

Congratulations to HRH Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi for their happily ever after.
