Towering 2,310 feet above the city of Rio, the Christ the Redeemer statue has fascinated couples from around the world to get married there. Located in Rio de Janeiro, Christ the Redeemer, or Cristo Redentor in its native Portuguese, looks down over the city from the top of a mountain deep in a national park. The best part is that in 2006, the Brazilian Catholic Church also extended its arms to allow couples to get married under the outstretched arms of the iconic Christ Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. There is a small Catholic chapel at the base of the statue which is dedicated to the patron saint of Brazil.
