Itir and Karim tied the knot on the largest Mediterranean island, Sicily. Known as one of the pearls of Southern Italy, the paradisiacal locale gave the guests who travelled from several parts of the world, a gist of the real Sicilian experience in all its aspects, from dazzling panoramic views to stunning cultural treasures.
The extravagant 3-day affair was designed and organized by the incredible team at Strawberries & Champagne. With its headquarters in Lebanon, the company is synonymous with lavish destination weddings that continuously exceed clients’ expectations. The dynamic marriage of innovation, originality and commitment is what really sets them apart.
Itir and Karim’s enthralling experience began with guests receiving personalized gifts in the form of custom-made, authentic Sicilian products and a heartfelt welcome note in their hotel rooms.
The first event which was named Fellini & Bellinis saw several recreations of famous Sicilian mafia scenes from various renowned movies and a lot of Fellini film character-driven inspirations. The dress code for the celebration was red and black lace, inspired from D&G photoshoots.
The wedding ceremony was super exclusive as it was the first one in history to take place at the iconic Teatro Grecco di Taormina. Soulful opera performers were flown in from Scala Milano to perform during the nuptials in order to enhance the emotional experience of the overall ceremony. The festivities were concluded with folklore dancers who came in and accompanied the guests and the lovely couple along the way, from the Teatro Grecco to the Belmond Timeo Hotel.
A Michelin star dinner by chef Roberto Toro was followed by an eclectic bash where the guests let their hair down and danced till dawn. The vibrant décor revolved around Sicilian elements like; artisanal ceramics, Moorish heads and Sicilian floral arrangements which were comprised of cactuses and orange bougainvillea.
A Dolce Vita lunch was organized in the public Piazza of the old Castelmola town on last day of the revelries. The guests gorgeous on delectable delicacies from the delicious Sicilian spread whilst enjoying the scintillating live music and interacting with artistes who created custom-made headpieces festooned with red roses for them as wedding favours.
