5 Creative Ways To Incorporate Social Distancing At Your Wedding

If you’re hosting a wedding amid the COVID pandemic, there are certain safety measures you need to take—enforcing social distancing, offering masks, and encouraging good hand hygiene, live-streaming the event, to name a few. While the ways in which weddings are conducted have changed, love must go on in a post-coronavirus society. So how can couples ensure the best social gathering while adhering to social distancing restrictions? Check out these practical ideas to help you and your guests to adhere to social distancing in the most fun and cool way possible.

We absolutely love these cute teddy bears who are there to give you company and witnessing the wedding while maintaining 6 feet distance in the most adorable way possible. I need a bear-hug, right now!

Creating hand sanitizer stations throughout your event is one way to remind your guests to clean their hands. And while you can certainly place a large container of hand sanitizer on a table and leave it at that, there are some ways to make a sanitizer station a bit more festive to complement your wedding decor.

Infuse some fun and hygiene at the same time on your celebration day. Use your creative juices to design an exciting game. Let me give you one – every time someone says the word “wedding” or “ceremony,” everyone gets a pump of hand sanitizer. I’m sure you can come up with more games like this!

Create Safe Spaces For Guests

Just as it’s important to advise guests of any suggested safety measures, it’s important to give them room to heed your advice. Get creative and clearly define safe spaces for all your guests. Shorter ceremonies with more room for standing is preferred, allowing guests to be as close to others, or not, as they feel comfortable. For those who prefer to have a seat, expect to see ceremony venues accommodate social distancing with spaced-seating arrangements.

For an Indian wedding, you can opt for Divan style seating where mattresses are decorated and use. Amphitheater style seating can also work well around the mandap, as your guests can observe the wedding ceremony without any obstruction. You can either arrange the chairs to form a circle or semi-circle or you can opt for the usual seating arrangement but with spaced out sofas.

Comfort Level Bracelets

What if the bride’s father goes and hugs the groom’s dad and he suddenly flips out of fear? Comfort level bracelets on the rescue! These red, yellow, and green bracelets will indicate a person’s comfort level when it comes to social distancing. Not everyone present at your wedding is at the same comfort level. Some are okay with it and others do not want anything to do with it. So great visual way to show your comfort level.
