Behind The Scenes: Ralph & Russo Fall Couture 2018

Women Through The Lens— In the Ralph & Russo fall/winter 2018 couture collection showcased in Paris this year, Creative Director, Tamara Ralph takes inspiration from the identity and natural beauty captured by the grand masters Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton & Norman Parkinson. Her collection, “is testament to the values that both photography and couture share; the unique ability to emulate an individual’s personality and soul.”

She shares her inspiration behind her photographic masterpiece, going behind the scenes and capturing her couture collection which is, “enthused by light and animation… This season’s palette is iridescent; a flash of ice mints and pearlescent lavenders, aqua blue double satins and crystal mesh in rose-gold hues. Embroidery is crystallized like a photograph in time, whilst motion is captured in the movement of devoréd white feathers, fluid draping, floor sweeping trains, ribbons of metallic chainmail and wide leg trouser suits.”

While exploring contemporary female beauty through her lens, the woman behind the ground-breaking brand envisioned the dramatic finale, the bride — as embodied by Indian actress Sonam Kapoor, who drifted down the runway wearing a body-skimming Chantilly lace gown with a double duchess overskirt, a dazzling headpiece holding a cascade of embroidered tulle.
