If you are one of those couples who had to cancel their big wedding celebrations due to the current pandemic, here’s an awesome inspiration of how this couple had made their special day fun and adventurous by switching their big wedding for an elopement with the help of Sean, a Colorado elopement photographer from Vows and Peaks who planned and photographed their elopement.
Cody & Virginia met Sean for beer and were throwing around some ideas when in no time they settled on this awesome elopement spot right outside of their family home in Vail, Colorado. I mean who can resist the natural beauty of Colorado! Nowhere else in the United States can you drive a car up a mountain at over 11,000 ft of elevation – and here you can drive up to 14,000ft!
After a brief trail towards a secluded alpine lake, they arrived at the lake near Vail, Colorado where they settled into some spots behind the trees and got ready for their first looks!
Couples have found the quickie ceremonies to be a point of stability with so much uncertainty. Eloping offers the most private weddings possible. Whether you love the rugged mountain peaks, secluded alpine lakes, deep forests, high plains, rivers, sand dunes, waterfalls, or even the iconic 14ers, Colorado has it all.
The beautiful weather complimented their day and gave them some beautiful pictures to take back home. After all the wait and COVID-19 hysteria, they were super excited to say “I do!” They say that marriage is an adventure in itself, so the couple exchanged their vows to continue this adventure for a lifetime in front of a beautiful reflection before they explored the surrounding area of the lake for more photos. To enhance their celebrations commencing the start of their new life, Sean surprised Cody with a cigar before they popped some champagne and drank some beers as they witnessed a mesmerizing sunset from the hills.
This wedding was not just a union of two people, it was of three! Virginia & Cody ended up gaining a friend for life in the course of all the planning and photography! And this sentiment is perfectly reflected in Sean’s words- “I know that losing out on your wedding day hurts but this elopement was one hell of a backup option for these guys. I really couldn’t have asked for more fun and couple to explore this scenic alpine lake with and the entire experience came together so quick and easy. Virginia and Cody are going to be some lifer friends in my book. So excited to share the day and new friendship with them!”
