All The Details From This Bollywood Actor’s Fun-Filled Indo-Western Intimate Backyard Wedding

Bollywood gathered once again for this chilled-out wedding of one of the coolest actors/singers- Farhan Akhtar, who tied the knot with his beau- Shibani Dandekar. The couple began dating in 2018 and got married on 19th Feb 2022 in an intimate backyard ceremony in Khandala at his parents Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s home- Sukoon. On Monday the 21st, the couple got their marriage registered and later in the evening, they celebrated with close friends and family members.

The actor is well-known for his role in movies like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Rock On, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag among many others. His wife is an Indian-Australian singer, actress, anchor and model.

The wedding was a cozy family affair, which was attended by several of the couple’s friends from the industry too. Among the guests at the wedding were filmmaker Farah Khan, Shibani’s sister Anusha Dandekar, actress Rhea Chakraborty, Farhan’s sister Zoya Akhtar, actor Hrithik Roshan and his family, singer Shankar Mahadevan and actress Amrita Arora among others.

Farhan looked dapper in a black tux designed by Govinda Mehta. Shibani Dandekar looked absolutely enchanting in a custom-designed red & beige ensemble made from French Chantilly by JADE by Monica and Karishma and she accentuated her look with a traditional bridal veil which was dyed red to go with the fusion of the Indo-Western ceremony. She choose jewelry from Goenka and her flawless natural-looking makeup was done by Cassandra Kehren.

The wedding was meticulously planned by Shaadi Squad, one of the renowned names in Indian celebrity weddings. They planned the whole logistics in just 3 weeks. The natural backdrop was adorned with red florals that complimented the bride’s dress. It was mixed with shades of pastels to create a dreamy arch. The decor done by ALTAIR by Janki Desai was further adorned with chandeliers to accentuate the space for a fairytale look. The whole setting was looking mesmerizing in red and had a whole lot of rustic boho vibe.

We loved the whole light-hearted, joyous vibe that the wedding gave! Contrary to the belief that Bollywood weddings are always over-the-top, this couple set an example that all that matters is to have fun during the ceremony. We wish love, light and a happily-ever-after to the newlyweds!
