The Destination
Borgo Finocchieto, an 800-year-old restored villa with unparalleled views of historical sites and idyllic valleys of Tuscany, hosted the celebrity couple’s private ceremonials. The property is known to be the second most expensive in the world, having been a holiday home to elite guests such as the Kennedys and Obamas. Close to the tourist-favourites of Siena and Florence, the Borgo is easily accessible to Milan and other major cities, yet it gives the illusion of escaping into medieval Italy as the property sprawls across 400 acres. The five villas within the exclusive hotel houses only 44 people, ensuring privacy and attentive personalized services, which makes it ideal for a high profile secret wedding. Onlookers reporters that the beats of dhol and bhangra could be heard from the Borgo in light of the Punjabi wedding.

Every Indian bride dreams of being dressed by renowned Indian couturier Sabyasachi, and Anushka Sharma’s dream came true as the designer stepped in to create the striking ensembles of the bride and the groom for their wedding festivities. Sabyasachi Mukherjee took to Instagram to share details of the bride’s traditional jewellery, handcrafted with syndicate uncut diamonds, pale pink spinel and baroque Japanese cultured pearls, by the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery collection. For her wedding outfit, the bride wore a gorgeous blushing pink lehenga with Renaissance embroidery in vintage English colours embellished with silver-gold metal thread, pearls and beads. The designer also picked a similar palette for the groom, in an ivory raw silk sherwani hand-embroidered in a vintage Benarasi pattern, with an old rose silk kota safa.
