27/04/2019: A Royal Celebration At The Taj Mahal Palace, India

“The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They are in each other all along.”- Rumi

This quote stands completely true when it comes to Pooja and Anshul’s love story. Pooja Doshi, the founder of Elusive Dreams, a luxury wedding décor company from Delhi, India, planned her wedding and it was nothing short of magnificent in every way possible. This arranged-turned-love story is a perfect tale of romance, commitment, and understanding; the core pillars of any successful marriage. The universe conspired to make them meet and since then, they have never been apart! The couple chose to tie the knot on 27 April 2019 at the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai which had 800 attendees.

In the bride’s own words. “Our first date was at Olive, Bandra and I still remember him walking in, in his blue jeans black shirt, and tan brown shoes. He was so handsome I couldn’t get my eyes off him and our date which was supposed to be for an hour lasted 4 and a half hours. When he spoke, I felt I was talking and his experiences seemed so similar to my life experiences. We met again the following week at Koko, Lower Parel, and that day we laughed and shared more about ourselves. His laughter lit my world and I felt this strong connection with him and I got the intuition that I wanted this to work. This meeting changed everything for both of us and luckily I got to know after, he felt the same.”

The Proposal: She proudly tells us, “I didn’t think I would change my city for anyone, because Elusive Dreams, my decor company is doing very well in Delhi and I had made a brand and created a niche for myself, but this man changed my life and my decision! Today when I look back, it was the best decision I made. We met twice more after that and we were 100% sure that we wanted this and after that our families started meeting. 3 months later, our proposal took place at Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur. It was dreamy romantic and all things beautiful. The proposal became a talk of the town and was featured on many social media websites as “goals.”

The decor was impeccably planned by the bride herself along with the help of her groom. Together, they managed to create a royal evening for the guests to remember. The Sangeet decor seamlessly blended with their outfits for the night. There was a personalized photo booth for guests to take memories back home. It was as royal and as grand as it could get and Varun Dhawan, an Indian actor, performed at their sangeet night on the song “First class.” Doing their bit for the environment, no real flowers were used except for the wedding night to ensure zero wastage. The nuptials occurred at the ballroom of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The entrance was beautifully decorated with hanging hydrangeas. The bride made an entrance along with her elder brother who is a source of inspiration in her life.

The Hindu ceremony ended with the tradition of ‘Vidai’ where the bride leaves the parents’ house to start a new journey along with her husband. It was a lovely gesture from the groom as he ensured his new bride that everything would be okay and promised her a life full of love and happiness.
