We are living in times, where doctors and frontline health workers are angels on Earth saving the world one life at a time. Today’s real wedding feature is a story of two highly accomplished senior surgeons from the USA – Tishangi & Vaibhav. Their wedding happened on January 18th, 2020 at the iconic Burj Khalifa, Dubai. This 3-day destination wedding witnessed around 600 guests.
Rachna Chadha, Founder & CEO of BAQAA Glamour Weddings & Events, who has been instrumental in cementing the concept of Indian weddings in UAE, Turkey, and Portugal, curated this wedding experience which made a remarkable history with the first-ever baraat inside the Armani, Burj Khalifa.
The decor was everything royal and elegant. A vibrant ethnic Mehndi, a modern Moroccan Sangeet in subtle colors at Address Marina was just a prelude to some great moments which followed with the wedding of these two beautiful doctors. The team at BAQAA magnificently transformed the venue by creating a tunnel of magnolia trees, pink orchids, foliage, hanging champagne golden lamps. The path towards the main stage where the rituals were supposed to be performed was created by hurricanes filled with water and candles. The stage was a beautiful mix of pastel pink, peach, and burgundy. An impeccable fusion of English colors with the Indian. The hanging hydrangea petal strings with laced flower chandeliers gave an enchanting aura for the guests to witness this unique wedding.
The Jaimala at sunset with amber skies against the iconic Dubai fountains was another first and wow moment at this grand venue. The traditional pheras around the pious fire and wedding wows were performed for the first time at this venue at the Burj Khalifa. The evening witnessed a beautiful fairy light setting. The lush curtains were set on the looming walls of the venue. The trees, bushes, and candles created a romantic vibe for the couple and guests. The main stage was converted into an elegant reception stage for the couple entry and their first dance together as a husband and wife. Live entertainment, special effects, grand culinary experience by Armani kept adding to the experience for the guests. Another first for the wedding was the special presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum for 45 minutes at the event.
In her own words, Rachna tells us her inspiration behind this stunning wedding. “I launched the concept of Indian weddings at Armani in 2012. The design and the guest experience had to be special. The USP was the first-ever Baraat and complete Indian wedding pheras which was mobilized due to my professional position. The décor was modern but I added the traditional colors of red, tangerine orange much like saffron to the pastel color palette which looked vibrant in the day and deep in the evening. All the traditional ceremonies were arranged with the baraat, the entries, milni, jaimala for a sunset wedding followed by a grand wedding reception with the western traditions of speeches, cake cutting, first dances etc. The blend of traditional and contemporary was very intricately and aesthetically weaved together to design, plan and orchestrate an experience like never before at this venue.”
